teaching statement

I believe that my role as teacher is one of facilitator and that artists working in glass should be well rounded, that too narrow a focus breeds tunnel vision rather than the capacity to grow in one's field. I therefore combine hands-on studio instruction with intellectual debate by including a variety of visual presentations and class critiques/feedback sessions as an integral part of the class structure. My aim is to create a learning environment that provides the tools for students to explore, develop and resolve their ideas to their fullest potential.
